Description
The IV-Loads (HP1 or LP1) can perform maximum power point tracking. The generated power will be dissipated as heat in the heatsinks of these electronic loads.
Using a microinverter
When the user does not want to ‘throw-away’ this generated power, it is possible to connect to a micro-inverter. The IV-Load can be connected to this micro-inverter by using a PV-Switch. The PV-Switch contains a smart, spark free relay. When this configuration is used the MPPT is realized by a third party micro-inverter.
Increasing the MPPT load
The IV-Loads can dissipate up to a maximum amount of power during MPPT. For the IV-Load HP1 this is 300W. To increase the amount of power it is possible to connect fixed dump resistors. These dump resistors can be connected by using the PV-Switch.
